Dataflow refresh has failed in Power BI service

Hello All,

Ynr225_0-1727453699181.png

I was able to connect to data source at first on desktop, but it took 4+ hours to refresh.  Afterwards I was not able to, as it would result in a disc error (no space available on disc).  This may have been due to security reasons, or the merges I attempted to make.

the sql query did refresh once on powerbi service, before I add the excel sheets to merge too. Now i am receiving below data flow refresh error.

Error: On-Prem execution not supported for entity '2d5b3bea-e4bf-4d8c-81b7-953ddee23e11/cedc987a-6012-4f93-9852-f307d19fc6b6/Material ' since it refers to another entity.. Param1 = 2d5b3bea-e4bf-4d8c-81b7-953ddee23e11/cedc987a-6012-4f93-9852-f307d19fc6b6/Material Request ID: 406caa2e-7a7d-06c3-4150-d80174588bee.

I disabled "enabled load " on all sources except final merged one refresh is working fine. Is it recomendable to diable it?

Can you disable "Enable Load" on all source entities? Just keep it enabled for final merged table.

Recommended approach is what I mentioned in first reply to have two data flows and leverage linked entities to do the join in Target Dataflow. If you want to keep all calculations in single dataflow and doesn't need source table, you should disable load for source tables. That will also improve performance significantly.

You can check Privacy level settings for each data source under manage connections and set at Organizational Level.

Thanks!

I checked privacy levels are set to organisational.

You can try to create two dataflows for each source and see which one is causing performance issue. Then bring them as linked entity in final Report Dataflow.

Hello @abpgupta ,

Thanks for responding. Actually i have taken three excel sheets in lan folder and applied transformations. After that i have taken sql server as a data source and i merged that sql server database with above three excel sheets. Once merged i manually refreshed and its failed. Below is the screenshot for your reference.

Table1, Table2 and Table3 are created using excel sheets. Table4 is sql server database merged with Table1, Table2 and Table3.
