Hi,
I can connect with rds aws postgres from power bi desktop and build the report. After published on power bi service getting an error for Data source Credential setup.
There are many blogs regarding the same issue. Mostly are recommending the on-premises gateway, but my database is on cloud, do I really need gateway in this case also. If yes, please provide the proper step for setup gateway for CLOUD Database.
Would anyone suggest appropriate steps for connecting rds aws postgres database?
Summary :
1. Power Bi Desktop connecting with rds aws postgres db and also refresh.
2. Error occuring on Power Bi service after publish
3. Error in putting credentail in "Data Source Credential"
Any solution response would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Ram
Hi @ram_nrt
According to the error, it has to do with an invalid SSL Certificate.
I do vaguely recall where having the Gateway installed allowed the users to then also install a valid SSL Certificate in order to then connect to the RDS.
Hi @GilbertQ
Thank you for your attention. I am not sure about this. Would you please explain the steps to do so?
Thank you in advance.
Hi there
Here are the steps on how to get this working with the Gateway.
Solved: Connecting to PostgresSQL hosted on AWS RDS? - Microsoft Power BI Community
Hi @GilbertQ ,
I have already install the SSL certificate, but still the same issue. And after that only I am able to connect with power bi desktop to rds aws.
But I mentioned already, the issue is at power bi service after published the desktop report.
Any other suggestion ?
Thank you
Hi @ram_nrt
As far as I can understand you would need to connect this to your Gateway Server, where you would also install the SSL Certificate to get it working?
