Hi,
What is the below checkbox represents. What is OAuth2 credentials?
Should i check it or not?
Solved! Go to Solution.
OK, then you do not need to worry about that checkbox and should leave it unchecked. That checkbox really only applies to connecting to the data source through Direct Query and doesn't apply to import mode.
OAuth is an open standard for token-based authentication and authorization on the Internet. This is what you use connecting to Office 365 for example. Basically, what this is saying is that each user will authenticate as themselves versus the credentials that you are entering being stored in the data source connection (everyone uses those credentials).
What type of data source are you connecting to?
Hi @Greg_Deckler,
Thanks for your response!
I am connecting to Azure sql database. So I have to check it or not?
The central question that needs to be answered regarding that is, are you planning to distribute this and have people see different information based upon their permissions to the source data? In other words, should people all see the same thing or should they see information solely based on their permissions within the database? And are you connecting via Direct Query?
Hi @Greg_Deckler,
I have implemented row level security so people see different information based upon their permissions to the source data.Every individual will see their own data.
I am connecting through the import option and not through direct query.
