I created a report using a SharePoint List and the refresh works on the desktop app. When I publish to my workspace, the data does not update in the online service when changed. Things I have tried:
1. In the semantic model, tested the 4 privacy settings under authentication method "Oauth2" for my credentials - none of them worked. Desktop credential settings are my personal work Microsoft account (organizational account) & privacy level "None".
2. Manual refresh & scheduling refresh in the semantic model.
I am not getting any error messages when refreshing, but the data is not accurate. Cannot figure out why it's working on the desktop, but not in service. I've read through a lot of the posts and they mostly all come back to the user credentials, but nothing I'm trying is working!

Hi @amandaeng,
Thanks for the update. If you're using the "Web" connector to access your SharePoint List, it may work in Power BI Desktop but fail to refresh properly in the Power BI Service due to authentication or compatibility issues.
fix In Power BI Desktop, go to:
Home → Get Data → More → Online Services → SharePoint Online List
Then enter your SharePoint site URL

Hello @amandaeng ,
1) Updated sharepoint list and pbı refresh time might be very close. Therefore, Pbı cannot update the semantic model.
2) Sharepoint online list implementation? Which implementation have you used? 1.0? 2.0? İt might be effects.
3) Maybe there is a some bookmark you've made in pbı service. Some slicer saved due to bookmark.
Kind Regards,
Gökberk Uzuntaş

1) When you say "Updated sharepoint list and pbı refresh time might be very close.", do you mean PBI is just taking a while to refresh? I have tried updating the sharepoint list, waiting 20 minutes, and then completing a manual refresh in PBI service and it does not update.
2) I used implementation 2.0.
3) There are no bookmarks on the report.
Hi @amandaeng,
Even though the credentials seem fine, it's still worth re-authenticating the SharePoint List data source in Power BI Service to ensure the connection is fresh.
Large datasets from SharePoint Lists can cause slow or problematic refreshes. Check if the dataset size is impacting the refresh process in Power BI Service.

Hi, I have reauthenticated the source multiple times and it doesn't change anything. The list isn't the that large, only about 350 rows with 10 columns.
I couldnt get the manual refresh to work, so I just created a flow in Power Automate to update the dataset whenever an item in the list is changed. It's a workaround, but not a fix.
