Hello everyone,
I wonder if anyone could shed some light on the issue. The issue is, we are using publicly available data in our dashboard and would like to enable "data export" feature for our users. The (global) tenant settings are enabled. We are using dashboards embeded into website method and the idea is to make a dashbaord like in this example (with 3 dots and data export feature enabled) - CT21 - WVInsight (wolverhampton.gov.uk) what's the best way to do it? Many thanks in advance
To enable the "data export" feature for your embedded dashboard, you will need to make sure that the following requirements are met:
The data source behind your dashboard must support data export. You will need to check the documentation for your specific data source to see if this feature is supported.
The Power BI tenant settings must be enabled for data export. You can check this in the Power BI admin portal.
The embed token that you are using to embed the dashboard must have the "export data" permission enabled. You can do this by setting the "permissions" property in the embed token to include "ExportData".
Once these requirements are met, your users should be able to see the "data export" option in the ellipsis menu on the top right corner of the embedded dashboard, and they should be able to export the data to a supported format.
Keep in mind that enabling data export for publicly available data can have privacy and security implications, so you may want to consider limiting the data that can be exported or implementing additional security measures to protect the data.
Thank you for the answers. Would it be ok to elaborate on the point 3?
The data sources we are using are the same as in the example above so that should not be an issue.
The tenant settings are enabled, so that should be also fine.
