Daily refresh fails when requesting data using web API

Created a report, and it works flawlessly in Power BI Desktop. I had to use relative path etc, to be able to setup daily refresh when published.

I have a list of maybe 1000 customers, and then i invoke a function in power bi to send request to the web api. 

In the desktop version, it uses approx 15-30 minutes. 

The error on refresh says: "The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send"

Any tips?

Could it be that there is a timeout on the API you are using? 

I would suggest checking to see if there is a timeout.
