Custom connector parameters

Good day,

I have created a custom connector that uses a list type as one of it's parameter as shown below.

e.g MyConnector_Connector.Contents = (url as text, names as list)

MyConnector_ConnectorType = type function(
url as (type text meta [
Documentation.FieldCaption = "URL",
Documentation.FieldDescription = "URL of the web content"
]),
names as (type list meta [
Documentation.FieldCaption = "Names"
]),

When I use the connector in power bi desktop it works just fine as it allows me to select a column to use for the list type. The issue comes when I publish my report and add the connector to my gateway. The connector appears just fine in the gateway but when I try and add a new connection in power bi service the custom connector doesn't appear. It only apears when I make my parameters text or number.

Does anyone know a work around for working with list/object parameters?

I managed to solve it. In order to work around it just make your parameters optional

Hi @Bokangmaela Have you used TestConnection section in the custom connector code? Because in the microsoft it says like we need to use it Use custom data connectors with the on-premises data gateway - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
