Credentials update problem

Hi there... I've got a problem with the dataset in power bi service. I can get everything OK in desktop and push it up to the workspace, however when I try to edit the credentials in the services it just "thinks" forever and doesn't update. I therefore cannot schedule refreshing.

I have reviewed the various similar issues and have followed the advice where it suited, but still nothing.

The data is postgresql on azure, I get the data via ODBC into desktop. I push to the service using my account credentials and am the admin for the data and reports etc... I can share etc and do everything that I should be able to except get the credentials to stick.

(I have a pro licence)

(I'm assuming its related to the postgresql being the origin as my sharepoint and dataverse datasets don't have this problem and perhaps I need to add a gateway although I'm unsure about how to do that)

Any tips appreciated...

Tony

So I installed a gateway on the VM and mapped the data to the appropriate bits without as much issue as I would have thought it would be.

Problem solved (well I suspect it's not the ideal method but it seems to be working)
