Creating an Input field /Custom data entry column on Matrix Visual

Hi Experts,

Is it possible to create an input field on a matrix visual? If yes, could you please send me some documentation on the how to's? Also, I am wondering where will the data write to and will be saved in the backend? Can it be directly written back to the spreadsheet which is my data source?

Please let me know.

Appreciate your guidance.

Thanks,

Ashwini

Hi @gokar1ap

The matrix of power bi desktop dosen't support input custom data currently.

Here is the link of matrix visual:

Create a matrix visual in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

When users input data into the matrix visual, it does not directly write back to the original spreadsheet (your data source). Instead, the data is stored within the Power BI report. If you need to persist these changes back to your spreadsheet, you’ll need to implement a separate process. Use Power BI’s Export Data feature to export the modified data to a file (e.g., CSV or Excel). Manually update your spreadsheet with the exported data.
