Create groups in Azure that can only access an app - not a workspace

I'm hoping to look for a simple solution.

We'd like to create a group of users, that by default have no permissions to anything in PowerBI, until I manually add the group to an app.

So a final product would be - this group can see the app, but has no workspace available to them.

Is this possible?

Hi @bh21 ,

Applications are created in workspaces where members can collaborate with colleagues on Power BI content before publishing groups (m365 groups, security groups, security groups for inspired emails, and communication groups) with the completed applications. The users in the group to which the application is distributed do not belong to any role in the workspace.

The following documents are available for your reference: What is a Power BI app? - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

Here are my steps you can follow:

(1)Add a group. Adding members of the group to it.

(2) View workspace permissions.

(3)Create an application and publish the application to this group.

(4) View workspace permissions again. There are no changes to the workspace member roles. Group members do not have a workspace role.

@Anonymous By default you don't have access to any content in Power BI. Your solution will work. The only way the users will have access to a workspace or any shared reports is if it was shared with them or they are in a group with permission to that specific content.
