Create and pass parameters in SSAS tabular model (1400)

Hi,

I have a Power BI report that has a live connection to an Analysis Services tabular model.

Since it is a live connection, I am unable to create parameters in Power BI desktop.

I managed to create a parameter using Expressions in the Analysis Services model, but I am not sure how to pass this parameter as part of DAX query for a measure. I tried using "@", but it still doesn't work.

Hi @vanessa,

please have a look at this thread: Using-Parameters-on-PBI-desktop-with-a-Live-Connection-to-SSAS

Thanks @nickyvv

But my requirement is a bit different.

I am basically duplicating an app for 2 different sets of users.  In one version of the app I want to implement some conditional formatting, whereas there is no conditional formatting in the 2nd app.

In order to achieve this , I was considering using parameters to pass the app name and then implement conditional formatting based on that.

@vanessa,

ah right, you didn't mention that 😃

You could get the GUID of the app out of the URL, and populate the parameters with that?
