Create Gateway connection via REST API and skipping connection test ?

We have the need to improve our gateway connection creation process, and oftentimes the future connection "owner"  is not available immediately to enter their credentials. In the gateway admin center UI we can choose to skip the connection test.  

I am trying to find out if the same can be done when creating connections via the API

However, nowhere in that document is the "skip test"  option mentioned. Any advice how to accomplish this via the API?

Unfortunately I'm also not aware of a solution via the REST API.

There is however, an idea which you can (get people to) vote on... 🙂 It has a whopping 3 (three!) votes already 😉
