Create Dataflow from SharePoint folder

Hello all,

Hope you can help me.

I am trying to create a dataflow in Power BI Service using data in a SharePoint folder.

This is my SharePoint main folder, containing multiple folders.

I would like to create a dataflow that combines only the files in the Test folder. The files' names change on a monthly basis.

If I select "SharePoint folder" as a new source and use the SharePoint url, I get all the files from all the folders. I could filter only the files I need but the problem, as said above, is that the files' names change monthly.

How could I fix it?

Thank you for your support.

Hi @Anonymous

You may want to create parameters for each file in Power Query and you still need to go back to the service to change the parameters when thge files are changed in Sharepoint.

Hi @aj1973 ,

Thank you for your answer.

In Power Query in Power BI Service, I have filtered the Folder Path instead of (File) Name and it seems working fine, also when I add or remove files from the specific folder. Do you think I will have issues in this way?

Thank you!

You should not have an issue by adding or removing files as long as you keep the same structure of your files.
