Connecting Google Cloud SQL to Power BI Dataflow

Hi,

Has anyone successfully made a connection from a Google Cloud SQL hosted database such as PostgreSQL to a dataflow in PBI Service? Since Google Cloud SQL needs to register a valid IP address (or range of IPs addresses), how would you know what IP to give access? Or is there another way to do this? Please help!

Hi , @alexpaz

As far as I know, if your way is to enter credentials directly using the "Edit credential" method in Power BI to connect to a Google Cloud SQL managed database via cloud-to-cloud, the IP address from the Power BI service sending requests is random, and you cannot add a single IP address or IP block to a valid IP address (or IP address range) of your data source Google Cloud SQL , but if you try to use on-premsie data gateway to configure Power BI's link to Google Cloud SQL, the connection request is sent from the computer where on-premsie data gateway is installed, and the IP address will be a fixed IP, which is the Internet IP address of your gateway computer, and you can put this IP address into a valid IP Address whitelist and try to connect to this data source via the On-Premsie Data Gateway as a bridge.

For more information, you can refer to :
Add or remove a gateway data source - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

we can better help you solve the problem. (You can also upload you sample .pbix [without sensitive data] to the OneDrive and share with the OneDrive link to me ! )

Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!

Best Regards,
