Connect to MySQL Error

the mysql database can be connect in the desktop but can't connect in the power bi service online with the same information(server, username and password), i'm not sure where's the problem. Can you give me some guide for this problem? Thanku!!

Hi @JunFeng , It might be related to the gateway configration could you check for that

Thanks for the question and using Fabric community platform.

@Akash_Varuna Thanks for prompt response. In addition to that :

  • Power BI Service requires an on-premises data gateway to connect to MySQL databases that are not cloud-based. Ensure that you have the gateway installed and configured correctly.
  • Make sure you are using the standard mode of the on-premises data gateway, as the personal mode does not support MySQL connections.
  • Ensure the gateway is correctly installed and configured, and that it has connectivity to your MySQL server
  • Ensure you're using the same credentials in the Power BI Service as you are in Power BI Desktop, Inaccurate credentials will cause connection failure.
  • Verify that your MySQL server is accessible from the machine where the gateway is installed. The gateway needs to be able to "see" the MySQL server.
  • check that you are using the correct authentication type (Basic or Database) in Power BI Service when entering your credentials.In Power BI Service, navigate to the "Manage Gateways" section and ensure your gateway is online and configured correctly.
