Configuring ACE OLEDB

Hi...

I have a Power BI Report developed with MS Access DB as a Source, when deployed that report in the Service, it gave me error to install the ACE OLEDB and hence i have intsalled the 64bit Version of ACE OLEDB from this link ( https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255). After installing this i have checked in the power bi service and tried refreshing the report and the same error is coming again. Can anyone help me is there any configurations needs to be done after installing the ACE OLEDB from the above link.

Thanks

Hey @lbendlin

Can you please help me here ?

Appreciate a quick help

Thanks

Maybe don't use Access databases as data source?

If you must, allow refresh of cloud data sources through your gateway, and install  the 64 bit driver on all gateway cluster members.

Hi, @Sudharshan1919

Before installing the download, you must first remove any previous versions of the Access Database Engine from your computer by using Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

You need to check whether the bit-version of Microsoft Office  match the bit-version of your Power BI Desktop installation.

You must install the Access Database Engine version, either 32-bit or 64-bit, that matches your Power BI Desktop version.

Hi @v-easonf-msft

As suggested i have removed the previous versions AccessDatabaseEngine files and installed the Access Database engine of 64bit from this (Download Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable from Official Microsoft Download Cent...).

After uninstalling the older files, i have tried to connect to access data base file which i have stored in my pesonal one drive and trried connecting to it, it has thrown the same error that AccessDatabase Engine is Installed in the local machine and so i have installed the engine and it started working.

But when i upoaded it in the power bi service(web), it is again throwing the same error that AccessDatabase engine is not installed in the Local Machine.

If you observe from above situation, when there is no ACE OLEDB/AccessDatabaseEngine, Power bi has thrown me the error that there is No ACE OLEDB/AccessDatabaseEngine installed in Local Machine, and after i installed it the report started working fine in PowerBI Desktop, and in the Power BI Service why it is showing the same error that ACE OLEDB is not registered in the Local Machine.

Can you suggest here something that could help me in solve my problem.

Hi, @Sudharshan1919

If the problem is still not resolved, it is recommended to open a support ticket to let engineers look into the issue on your side.
