Cloud Connection is not syncing where status is online

Hi team,

             Power BI service is not connecting to the MySql database via cloud connection it gives the following error.

Please check if you can access the MySQL database from the cloud first. If not, an on-premises data gateway is needed.

Agree with GilbertQ.

1. Use the latest version of the on-premises gateway. (Note: The MySQL connector isn't supported on the Personal Mode of the on-premises data gateway. It's only supported on the on-premises data gateway (standard mode))

2. Update components Oracle MySQL Connector/NET, get the package from this link: dev.mysql.com

Hi v,

             Gateway is installed, I will check for the latest version. But do I need a gateway for cloud connection as well? like I have added a cloud connection directly from my server. Gateway still needed to be implemented? I am looking for a way to directly link the database without any gateway installed on any system.

If the MySQL database is not hosted in the cloud, a gateway is a must.

I would check to make sure you are running the latest version of the Gateway?

Hi Gilbert,

                yes everything is up to date.  The issue is that the connection is online from the server but it's updating the reports I added it to the cloud connection as well
