We have a report in power bi desktop that has live connection. When published to power bi service then downloaded it again into PBIX file, the PBIX file it generated also has live connection.
Now, we need to copy that exact same report to another workspace so we did this step:
- Export the dataset from Workspace 1 (The dataset where we point the live connection to)
- Import the exported dataset to Workspace 2 via REST API
- Clone the report from Workspace 1 (this report has live connection) to Workspace 2 and pointed the dataset to the one we imported earlier
After that, we export the report from Workspace 2 then open the exported PBIX file in power bi desktop. After we opened, we noticed that the report no longer has live connection.
Is it possible to have the cloned report retain its live connection pointing to the newly imported dataset?

Hi Cherie, this does not answer the question. We have seen this article previously.
Thank you
