I have a report which has 2 pie charts. The data feeding the pie chards are calcualted fields and columns that I have added to my dataset. The issue is that, unlike adding an exisiting field to a pie chart visualization, a clicking of any of the pie slices does not refesh data in the other visualzation around it. When I just add any field into that chart that is an existing actual field of data, it does refresh.
Unfrotunately, the calculations are what I need and that was the easiest way to produce the numbers needed. Is there a way to bridge a connection between the calulations I created, and the other visualizations?
I can't reproduce your issue. When I populate a calculated field into a pie chart and click one slice, it will filter other visuals properly.
Ps: Category * is calculated field.
What's the formula you applied in that calculated column?
I suggest you add custom column in Query Editor with Power Query syntax.
Regards,
Thanks for helping. Some added info...
When I add the data as a drag and drop from an actual data field from the data source, visualization behave as expected. When I create a new measure or column, then add the results of that to the pie, it does not.
In the example above, I have a new measure called "On Budget" which is a count of projects with a CPI of a certain range. I created 3 of these that make up the pie and add them. It displays great and allows the use to slect a slice. However upon that selection, the sorrounding visualizations do nothing, even though there is a postback. Not sure why it will not repeat the same behavior as it would if I used any other field supplied by the dataset that is not a new measure or column.
