Cannot disable Explore preview option in reports

Hello

In published reports, the "Explore" feature is visible, allowing report users to view details from the semantic data model. We would like to disable this feature.

We have already disabled the preview feature in the Power BI Admin portal tenant settings. Additionally, report users only have a read access to the semantic models or access through app's audience permissions.

Are there any other settings that could affect this behavior?

Hi @pjuvalainen ,

Try to Republish the semantic model after disabling Explore in the tenant settings. Explore may still show up for users with Read access if the dataset was published before the tenant setting was disabled.

Thanks,

Hi pjuvalainen / BhavinVyas3003,

We are encountering a similar issue. We've created an app in Power BI Service and added a few reports to it. Access to the reports has been configured using audience lists, and everything is working smoothly from that perspective.

However, we've noticed that users in the audience group are still able to view the semantic model, even though we have not granted them any additional permissions beyond what’s configured through the app.

We would like to try the suggested approach of disabling the "Explore" option in the tenant settings to prevent this. Could you please guide us through the steps to do this?

Thank you!
