Simply as the title explains, I have a Premium Capacity work space which contains my report. Trying to add a DL to a daily subscription mail and am told I need a Premium Capacity back subscription.
Free users or groups can only be subscribed to reports or dashboards backed by Premium capacity

That's correct. PPU is a user license, so not really Premium Capacity in that sense.
Hi @Tdawg90,
to clarify, Power BI Premium is capacity-based. Premium Per User (PPU) is obviously user-based, and maybe the name above the dropdown is a bit misleading there.
So the PPU workspace you have can only be accessed by users with a PPU license.
And to receive a subscription, you really need a Premium capacity workspace, or all users need to have a Pro (or PPU) license.
Have a look at the PPU FAQ (especially question 😎 for more information.
So even though the error and docs say Premium Capacity backed, and I have Premium Capacity selected for the work space, because I'm a Premium Per User (capacity?), I cannot add a DL?

I have the same problem - in my case everyone in the organization has premium per user. This description seems to imply that I should be able to subscribe groups
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-report-subscribe#general:
General
When creating a subscription, you can add other email addresses in the same domain to the subscription. If the report or dashboard is hosted in a Premium or Premium-Per-User capacity, you can subscribe group aliases, whether they're in your domain or not. You don't have to subscribe individual email addresses. The aliases are based on the current active directory.
Any thoughts on my situation?
Thanks,
tim
