Can't assign workspace or deploy" when creating pipelins in Power BI Service

Hi all!

I've 3 environments in Power BI (Development, Test, and Production), and I want to create deployment pipelines. All workspaces are assigned to a Premium capacity, and my user account is part of an Azure AD group that has the Member role in each workspace.

However, when I try to create a pipeline and assign these environments, I receive a message saying that no workspaces are available to assign. Why is this happening?
How can I check if a workspace has already been assigned to a deployment pipeline?

Thanks

Hi @Fern_21  ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

To assign a workspace to a deployment pipeline stage please make sure they meet the required conditions:

  • You're an admin of the workspace.
  • The workspace isn't assigned to any other deployment pipeline.
  • The workspace resides on a Fabric capacity.
  • You have at least workspace contributor permissions for the workspaces in its adjacent stages.
  • The workspace doesn't contain Power BI samples.
  • The workspace isn't a template app workspace.
  • The workspace doesn't have a template app installed.

@Fern_21 Pipeline permissions are separate from workspace permissions. Pipelines have only one permission which is Admin. Please speak with your Power BI admin. Also if this what you will be doing regularly, please ask for elevated permissions as a workspace admin.
