I can't seem to select a gateway for my dataset.
I only have one gateway configured, and the radio button in not available.
I can click on Manually add to gateway
this allows me to add a new data source, and successfully test.
but the I still can't connect to the gateway.
What am I missing? Thanks for reading.
I'm not aware of any tenant level settings that could influence this but I'll have another look. Would you consider trying a separate, simpler custom connector for testing?
Also note:
Thank you for the documentation. I did follow these instructions, including creating a Test Connection in my connector code. I was able to successfully connect the service to my personal gateway, but it isn't connecting with the standard gateway. This tells me that my connector is fine, but there's something different about the standard gateway.
Thank you for the feedback. I uninstalled \ reinstalled the connector, and used the default service account and gateway.
I recreated the gateway and datasource for good luck
but the dataset is still throwing the same error
One more question - did you allow custom connector refresh through the gateway?
Use custom data connectors with the on-premises data gateway - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
I did. That's what exposed my custom Data Source Type
that looks like a custom connector created by your company. You'd want to discuss this with the creators of the connector and with the gateway cluster admins.
Yes, it's a custom connector. I'm the developer and the gateway admin. I have no problems authenticating and syncing data from the Power BI desktop with my custom connector. I also had this successfully refreshing in the personal gateway, but recently moved to the standard gateway.
Did you install the custom connector on all gateway cluster members in the designated folder? Did you confirm that the custom connector is successfully loaded in each cluster member? Something like this:
Yes, the custom connector is attached to the gateway. There's only one gateway in play.
I don't think that's a good location for the connector code. Are you running the gateway service on something other than the default account?
