Hi there, I have a user who was able to create a report in Power BI Desktop by connecting to an Oracle Database, and a Direct Query connection to two datasets.
I see now as I look into the gateway settings.... :
That it's probably the DirectQuery that's failing rather than the Oracle Database?
Any ideas or suggestions to fix this?
Hi @d_r_holm ,
One possible cause is that the DirectQuery connection to the Oracle database is not configured correctly in the gateway settings. You need to make sure that the data source name, server name, and database name match exactly with the ones in Power BI Desktop. You also need to check that the gateway has the latest version of the Oracle client installed.
Another possible cause is that the DirectQuery connection to the two datasets is not supported by Power BI service. Power BI service only supports DirectQuery connections to certain data sources. If your datasets are not in the supported list, you might need to switch to import mode or use a different data source.
