Hi,
I have a number of dashboards we use to create invoice specifications for customers. We select the customer/project and period and then print the dashboard to PDF. This has worked well for months.
However, when I try to do this in Google Chrome, it leaves out the right part of the dashboard. I have tried reshaping and moving the tiles, but this did not fix it. Also, I tried changing the scaling options in the print window, did not work either. After printing to PDF (or regular printer), it comes out like the preview.
The dashboard in browser view:

In MS Edge it shows even worse:
Does anyone experience the same issue? Please let me know or MS please fix this 🙂

Just to add to this, it seems that Power BI tries to force the visuals to the top center, rather than the top left of the dashboard area.
While this does not seem apparent at first, you can clearly see this by increasing the paper size to A2 (in my case - A3 was not enough) and activating the backgroundpicture (if you have one). I haven't tested this thoroughly (whether pictures are actually the cause of this), I do know that disabling the background image does not solve the problem unfortunately. It does explain why moving everything to the right (actually to the center), does solve the problem.
Imho, the Power BI team might solve this by implementing a different way of handling background pictures (include stretching, rather than only cropping) and/or redefine the printable area to just the visible area (instead of roughly six times the visible width).
Cheers,
Niels
Looks like the same issue as reported here, only a year ago: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/Print-to-PDF-report-being-cut/idi-p/644221.
Hi @Anonymous ,
Unfortunately, I can't reproduce your issue.
Would it help to adjust the size and position of the graph on the dashboard?
If the problem persists, you could try to create a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free.

Hi Liang,
Thanks, but as mentioned I already tried this - without result. Problem persists, also over the weekend and reboot. I created a ticket, hopefully we can solve this.

Hi @Anonymous ,
If the problem has been solved, you can update your answer here.
Thanks in advance.

The problem was not really solved. I had a call with MS Support last week, and they could not solve it either - but did aknowledge the problem. They've closed the ticket as browser printing is out of scope for the PowerBI product (apparently). Kind of unsatisfying, given that the problem is browser-independent and appeared all of a sudden. Hopefully the problem will be solved magically in a future update.
For others with the same problem, there are two workarounds:
1. Set paper size to A3 or other large format. For on-screen PDF use probably not a problem.
2. Print to PDF from the report instead of the dashboad.
Check out the November 2025 Power BI update to learn about new features.
