Hi,
I have a Power BI report that originally included an automation flow to send emails. I could run the automation as well as the run-only users without any issues. I realized, however, there is no confirmation that is presented to the user to confirm the flow should be triggered, so I added a "confirmation pop-up box" in the Power BI report by way of a bookmark. When I did this, I can see the power automate flow button/trigger (works great), but the run-only user gets an error message that says "Error fetching data for this visual". Since the flow seems to work just fine without the bookmark, I am thinking it is either the limitation of the user's laptop specs or there is some kind data limit for a bookmark between my BI license and the run-only user. Any suggestions on how to get this to work? This is the video I referenced to create this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5b431p1eDas
This is what my screen looks like with the bookmark huttons and "pop-up confirmation box":

I found a workaround. Instead of putting the flow trigger inside the bookmark box, I set the bookmark to redirected to a separate page and put the trigger there. It isn't as seemless, but it works fine.

Hi @kmaynard
I wanted to check if you had the opportunity to review the information provided. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
Thank you.
Hi @kmaynard
While this potentially looks like it could work, I think this is beyond the native functionality that you have in Power BI and if it typically used to work without having the window prompt, I would just revert back to that and Justice let the users know that it is running as expected.
Thank you for your feedback. What I don't understand is why it works for some users and not others. It would prevent 15 users from accidentally creating thousands of emails in their inboxes.
Hi @kmaynard ,
These can be the reasons why it is not working for some users:
1) The Power Automate visual can process a maximum of 1,000 records.
2) The user running the flow within the Power BI report needs permission to run the flow. If the user do not have the permissions it can be the issue, Grant these permissions through direct sharing by the user or by sharing to a Microsoft Entra group.
I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.
Thank you
