Hello PowerBI Community,
I'm currently facing rather annoying problem. I took over the configuration rights to reports held inside our organizational workspace and ran into a problem with the automated refreshes. As i took over the configuration from other employees credentials the reports were built using his credentials.
For some odd reason I'm not able to change my credentials on web and SharePoint sources. I've tried to connect and change them in every way possible in service ,tried to revoke credentials in desktop version of the report and uploading that to service with poor results in that also.
I'm running out of options here.. thankfully the guy whose reports i took over stayed inside our organization, so his credentials are still valid and the refreshes are still going thru them since i asked to do so until i find the root cause of this occurring issue.
I think that if I manually do all the importing etc and the visuals with data imported by me might fix this problem, but this simply can't be the only solution can it? It's a lot of work.
Thank you in advance!
Hi, @Anonymous
If you mean changing the credentials in the original data source, the most straightforward way for now is to download the file to PowerBI Desktop and upload it again after modifying the credentials.

Thank you for the reply,
I have tried to change the data source credentials inside PowerBI Desktop, but once i upload the file to PowerBI service it doesn't refresh the data using my credentials ending up with failed refreshing. Once the original owner of the file takes over the configuration rights the automated refreshing starts working correctly once again.
Could this issue be related to Gateway rights somehow, that's the only thing that comes in my mind at this moment. I've tried every way possible to change the credentials inside the file itself.
