Auto Refresh

I have a dashboard that I have created, connected through the web to a spreadsheet that is saved on Sharepoint. I have published to Power BI service and the auto-refresh keeps failing and giving me the below error.

Data source error: {"error":{"code":"DMTS_OAuthFailedToGetResourceIdError","pbi.error":{"code":"DMTS_OAuthFailedToGetResourceIdError","details":[{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorMessage","detail":{"type":1,"value":"Failed to get OAuth resource, please make sure the OAuth is supported"}}],"exceptionCulprit":1}}}

I have tried everything I can think of (+ everything Copilot has suggested) and I still can't seem to find the solution. My boss needs this to be up and running by next week...can anybody help please?

Hello @BethM,
Thank you for the update and we really appreciate you confirming that.

Based on everything shared so far, the behavior aligns with a Web-based SharePoint connection, which isn’t supported for reliable OAuth refresh in the Power BI Service. Resolving it requires rebuilding the dataset using the native SharePoint/OneDrive connector and republishing.

Best regards,
Ganesh Singamshetty.

Hi @BethM

Okay, so you're not using any gateway or anything. If you scroll down a little more and go to the data source settings, you can edit the credentials to ensure they are up to date.

Hi @BethM

If you go to the settings of the model:

you should be able to see the gateway and cloud connections, and the data source creentials settings:

Hi @BethM

Is the data source properly set up in the semantic model?
Can you post some screenshots of the data source settings?

It looks like it is failing to get the OAuth token.

Hi @tayloramy

I'm guessing looking at this screenshot that its not.

I'm very new to Power BI so I seem to be learning as I go. May I ask what it should look like?
