Up until recently, in order to authenticate your BigQuery Datasource in the gateway management using your google service account you could use type basic, and use the service accounts' client_email and json contents from your json file as username and password.
Since the new release of the gateway management experience this no longer works since you now get an error that the password has exceeded a 200 character limitation...
I have not seen an update on how to authenticate this. According to Documentation
this is still the way to authenticate

Maybe you try the old UI of Manage Gateways. The new UI is on preview and will update recently.
