Hi,
I have a Power BI dataset (import) that is published to the Power BI service.
When I press the analyse in Excel button, Excel opens and it just says 'Model' under the PivotTable fields. Clicking on this doesn't result in it expanding on anything.
When, from within Excel, I use Get Data --> From Power BI and select the same published dataset, it works fine.
Any ideas why this might be happening with 'Analyze in Excel'?
Thanks,
Simon
Hi I have a similar issue with a dataset. When I click on analysis in excel it only shows model under the PivotTable field. There are other datasets in the same workspace and we have no issues with them. Also when we republish the same dataset with a different name we can do the analysis. Even if we over write the dataset the model doesn't work. I can repubhish with a different name, however there are serveral users running on the current version either using analysis in excel or PBI desktop. The PBI desktop analysis works fine not the excel.
There must be some issue with the connection string.
Could I ask why you cannot just connect via the Excel option. To me as long as it works it works?
It could be that you need to install the latest version of Excel?
This will have the updated drivers.
Hi GilbertQ,
I'm using the Office 365 October 2021 build so its only a month off the latest.
I can't update it because its sys admin controlled but as my version is so recent, it seems unlikely it would be that.
Anything that might cause this? I can't find an example of someone else having this issue anywhere on the net.
Thanks,
Simon
