Hi,
I have a report connected to multiple data sources, some of which are direct query connections to existing semantic models.
Upon publishing I am met with the following error on those visuals associated with the existing models:
Can anyone shed any light on how this error might be resolved?
Hi, @Anonymous
Make sure your on-premises data gateway is running and up to date. An outdated gateway can cause connectivity issues. For more information about managing on-premises data gateways, see the following link:
Manage an on-premises data gateway | Microsoft Learn
Sometimes, simply restarting the on-premises data gateway resolves the connectivity issue. This will refresh the connection and can clear any temporary failures.
Gateway logs can provide valuable insights into what might be causing connectivity issues. Look for any error messages or warnings that coincide with the time you're having the issue. For guidance on accessing and interpreting gateway logs, see Troubleshoot your on-premises data gateway:

Because the issue involves a DirectQuery connection, it's also important to make sure that the DirectQuery source is configured correctly and that there are no network issues that are preventing access to the data source.
