Amazon Redshift Connection using Direct Query mode

Hi all,
I am using Amazon Redshift as data source, and my connetcivity mode is "Direct Query".

The report works well in Power BI desktop but after I publish it into Power BI service and try to open the report in service I am getting the below error. I am unbale to view any data and if I click on edit in the report in  PBI service I couldn't see the Meta data for this report.

How when I try to work with import mode, everything works fine in desktop as well as in PBI service.  Gateway connectins are mapped and refresh successfully runs for both direct query and import mode.

Even in Microsoft document I could see the direct query is supportable for Amazon Redshift data source.

Please advice on this error.

Hi  @Arioli_Chezhian ,

The version you're using might be too old.

In this scenario when you browse the Direct Query model, you receive the following error message:

DirectQuery error: DirectQuery may not be used with this data source please consider moving to a supported data source or upgrading the SQL Server data source to the latest available version.

try updating to the latest version.

Best Regards,

Xianda Tang
