Added column to data source doesn't refresh to report

I have done the report (downloaded old report from service and edited it) in Power BI Desktop. Now there have added column in data source (Smartsheet). How can I get this column to my raport too? I have no more ideas - I have tried to refresh semantic model in service, report in desktop and tried to Power Query (it shows Queries (0)).

Please ask further questions if needed, just wrote what came to my mind about this problem.

Thank you in advance!

So I tested one thing: I downloaded previous report (old one) and there the data source was "Smartsheet" -> I signed in and the added column appears there. But there is still a problem: How can I get it to my report (which I have edited and which has NOT "Table view". Or should I do all those changes and edits to old report and deploy it again to service dev and prod..? (In dev there is no semantic model, just report, in prod there are both).

Hi @Gandhia
These steps might be helpful:

1. Refreshing Power Query:

  • "Queries (0)" doesn't necessarily mean there's no query.
  • Go to the "Transform Data" tab in Power BI Desktop.
  • Click on "Edit Queries" (or double-click on "Queries (0)" if it's visible).
  • This should open Power Query Editor.

2. Identify and Update the Source:

  • If a query exists, you should see the steps involved in transforming your data.
  • Look for the initial step where you connect to your SharePoint list. It might be named something like "Source" or have the SharePoint list name.
  • Right-click on that step and select "Refresh."

3. Handle Schema Changes:

  • If refreshing doesn't automatically add the new column, you might need to manually update the schema.
  • After refreshing, right-click on the same source step and choose "Edit."
  • This will open the data preview window. In some cases, you might see a notification about a schema change. Follow any prompts to incorporate the new column.

4. Check for Hidden Queries:

  • In rare cases, Power BI Desktop might hide queries that haven't been modified.
  • In Power Query Editor, go to the "Home" tab and click on "View" in the ribbon.
  • Select "Hidden Queries" to see if the query for your SharePoint data source is hidden. If so, unhide it and try refreshing again.

Hi @Shivu-2000 and thank you for the great answer!
But in this case, Power Query is really empty. There is no any data. I don't know why. So can't refresh either. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my data source (in data source setting it is "DirectQuery to AS" not "dataflow" or "smartsheet".

I got access to Smartsheet and now I use it on my new report (Get data etc.). I created measures again (from Direct query table to this smartsheet one) and deleted old table (Direct Query, includes same columns but the added one).

BUT NEED HELP ONE MORE TIME WITH THIS:

I have there other table also which is not in this same smartsheet. One visualization has been done from this table so it means it doesn't work when I publish it to service (since I have only this Smartsheet to other visualizations). Is there any option for example to copy table or table's columns to this other table? Or do you have any other ideas or solutions for this?

Please, need fast asnwer if you have any and if possible
