Accidentally Republished Semantic Model Live Connection

I accidentally republished a live connection while editing the visuals in the Power Bi desktop as I totally forgot that I'm working on a live connection and unfortunately, I republished it. Now I'm getting this error on my visuals

bradgarabiles_0-1757698075714.png

There's a pop up box saying Direct Query connection is required and I clicked add to model then I republished the PBI semantic model file and I have these error on my visuals.

I know, I should have edited the visuals on the web service and that's my mistake. Is there a way to restore this please? Thank you so much in advance for you help.

Hello @bradgarabiles

If version history is enabled in your workspace:

  • Go to the Power BI Service
  • Navigate to the report
  • Click “Settings” → “Versions”
  • Restore a previous version before the republish

If the original report is lost and version history isn’t available:

  • Go to the Power BI Service
  • Open the original semantic model
  • Use “Create Report” from the dataset
  • Rebuild visuals directly in the web interface
