Hi Gurus
Sorry if my question is too dumb as still I'm learning Power BI from youtube.
Initially when I started using Power BI almost 1.5 years before, I knew only Personal or On-Premises Gateway to view up-to-date data on my reports/dashboards.
But now while I'm returning to Power BI after 6 months, I'm also seeing some lectures of Power BI Report Server.
Though I've viewed some tutorials, but still I couldn't find the difference between On-Premises Gateway and Report Server.
Are they just synonyms or different products?
Can you please explain me this?
Thanks

That is correct and I believe that you make that decision at install time.
No, they are different things. The gateways are intended for the Power BI Service (cloud) to access on-premises data.
The Report Server is designed to be able to publish reports on-premises instead of publishing to the Service (cloud).
Thank you so much Greg
One last thing:
I've tried to search the Gateway download link and it has taken me to a page:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53127
It's not showing whether it's a Personal Gateway or Enterprise Gateway.
To my understanding, Personal Gateway I can use at my home or my individual PC and Enterprise Gateway on an Organization's Server.
Am I right ?
Thanks in advance
