WriteCatalogExtendedContentChunkById

My Power BI Report Server is January 2024.

I have monitored the following syntax in SQL Server, which executes every hour and consumes a significant amount of resources, leading to a MemoryHigh condition on my Power BI Report Server.

However, upon checking the database, this stored procedure has always been present.

I am wondering why my Power BI Report Server keeps creating it incessantly.

How can I prevent Power BI Report Server from repeatedly executing this

```
CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[WriteCatalogExtendedContentChunkById] @ID BIGINT
,@Chunk VARBINARY(max)
,@Offset INT
,@Length INT
AS
BEGIN
UPDATE [dbo].[CatalogItemExtendedContent]
SET [Content].WRITE(@Chunk, @Offset, @Length)
WHERE [Id] = @ID
END
```

Hi, @LeonLai

You should not block it, it is closely related to shared schedules, schedule refreshes, subscriptions, etc. It is a component at the bottom level. If you block it, your report server will not worked properly. You can see from the following that it is an API interface that is used by other components of the report server for calls:

Catalog Items - Add Catalog Item - REST API (Power bi report) | Microsoft Learn

You should follow this tutorial to check what exactly is happening with your report server:

Reporting Services log files and sources - SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) | Microsoft Learn
