Hello all,
I was upgrading to Jan 2019 and the upgrade completed successfully. Yet, the Product version is still showing the old number and in Control Panel->Programs and features, I now have two instances of Power BI report server, one for the old version and one for the new.
Any ideas what may be going on here?
I just upgraded (from March 2018) and am having the same issue. Did you ever find a solution?
To follow up:
I was going to look into this further, both servers I had this issue with had on some point been restarted in the meantime. On one of the servers, when I opened the Report Server Configuration Manager, it prompted me to upgrade. I went through that process and when done, it had upgraded successfully. Only one instance (new one) was present in the Installed Programs list on the server. I then went to the other server but the same did not happen there, no prompt for upgrade. I none the less ran the upgrade .exe on that server and when it completed, the upgrade was successful there as well.
On both servers there were warnings that my user did not have sufficient priviledges (Application SID does not match Conductor SID) and that may have caused the upgrade to halt completion pending the server restart. The second run then completed the upgrade. This is just a guess 🙂
Hope this helps
Unfortunately no. I haven´t had time to follow up on it yet. If I find anything when I do, I will post it here
