Unable to save the document. The file is too large

Hello there. I've created a report and uploaded it on our Report server. Then I tried to edit the report by clicking "Edit report in PowerBI Desktop". PowerBI desktop opened and I made my changes and tried to save the file but got an error message saying 

This seems a liitle nonsense to me, as my file originally was only 80 mb, and all I did was refreshed the data form a week ago (file already contains data from 2 years, so it cannot be such amount of data). Can somebody please help me understand why does this happen and how to solve it?

As it says, your file has hit the 2GB limit of your capacity.  Either up that limit (up to the max of 10GB before you need incremental refresh)  or use DAX Studio to check which tables use up the most space. You will find that you forgot to disable auto date/time which eats up a lot of space.
