Report Refreshing Problem - SQL Server Database

My report was connected to a SQL database with "import" method. It extract data from a stored procedure with an "EXEC spXXXXXX" syntax. I have set a "Scheduled refresh" for 8 times per day.

However, when my computer was shut off and SQL Server Management Studio offline, my Power BI report cannot refresh and the scheduler would automatically turned off. In order to keep this report update, I have to keep the SQL Server Management Studio online every morning, somtime I refresh the dataset manually.

The error message said "Your data gateway (personal mode) is offline or couldn't be reached."

Any solution to this problem?

It is not running Management Studio that is affecting this issue. The "problem" here is that to access an on-prem SQL Server the Power BI cloud service needs to connect through a data gateway. You must currently be running this gateway as a personal gateway on your machine. The way to get this to work when your machine is not switched on or connected is to setup another machine with a "standard" gateway. If you check the docs here On-premises data gateway - Power BI | Microsoft Docs  you can see that there are a few different options for setting up data gateways.

To get a standard gateway setup you will probably need to talk to your IT department as you will need a server to run it on and a Power BI Admin to configure it.

Thank you so much for your answer! I'll look into that!
