PowerBI RB, Data not outputting when Running

Good Morning all! I am creating an order acknowledgement for a company and have experienced an issue.

I have created a table (the ones with a black box around them) successfully conecting to my datasource, pulling values named Ship2_address1, Ship2_address2, Ship2_name, Ship2_postcode and Ship2_city, as well as Bill2 for the same fields.

I have also created a parameter to only output data relative to another field i've referrenced in another table (the one at the bottom of the page). However, when I try to run this document I do not get any data loading for my top two tables, but I do for my bottom one. To my knowledge I have configured them the same way I have as the bottom one.

So far, I have tried reconnecting and testing my data source to ensure its correct (which it is), I have remade the table to ensure that the data fields are correct (the fields are correct) and I have removed and re-added the parameter to see if data can be brought out...

I also do not have much experience with PowerBI as a whole so I may have just made a small minor mistake on this.

Kind regards and looking forward to any replies,

Avery

Hello v-ssriganesh

Very much appreciate your message, thank you!
Unfortunately, I have just managed to fix my issue and am about to close this case ... Turns out within the database I am using, there exists multiple "Bill2" and "Ship2" fields, I was simply using the wrong, unused feilds by mistake :')

Hello @Avery001,

Thank you for the update. I’m glad to hear you were able to resolve the issue—it’s great that you identified the mix-up with the "Bill2" and "Ship2" fields in your database. These kinds of mistakes can happen, especially when working with databases that have similar field names.

Since the issue is resolved, please mark it “Accept a solution”, as it might help others in the community who encounter a similar issue. Thanks again for sharing your solution.

Best regards,

Hello @Avery001,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.

After thoroughly reviewing the details you provided, Here are a few steps to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  • Ensure the datasets for the Ship To and Bill To tables aren’t overly restricted by the parameter. In the Dataset Properties (right-click the dataset > Dataset Properties > Filters tab), verify that the parameter filter (likely tied to order_no) aligns with the data in these tables.
  • Temporarily remove the parameter from the datasets for the top tables and run the report. If data appears, the issue is with how the parameter is filtering the data. You may need to adjust the parameter or dataset query to ensure it includes Ship To and Bill To data.
  • Confirm that the dataset queries for Ship To and Bill To are pulling the correct data. For example, if the query uses something like WHERE order_no = @OrderNo, ensure the @OrderNo value has matching records with Ship To/Bill To data.
  • Double-check that the parameter is correctly applied across all datasets. If the parameter is based on order_no from the bottom table, ensure the top tables’ datasets are linked appropriately.
  • Add a temporary table or text box to display the raw dataset output for Ship To and Bill To (without filters). This can help confirm if the data is being retrieved from the source.
