Power Bi Report Builder using Power Bi Data Model

Hi All, I am using Power Bi report builder that is pointing to a PBI data model. 

 

When I click on Query Designer it sometimes shows me options to drag drop the required cols and sometimes it just shows me the option to write the DAX. When I then want to change this to Design Mode then I lose all my existing code. How can I stop this from happening please.

Hi Sweets7,

 

That is the expected behavior. You can either use the UI designer for your query or the query editor text window. Not both together. 

 

One thing you might take a look at is this new feature: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/get-data-with-power-query-available-in-power-bi-report-buil...
