Power BI Server May 2022 - High memory usage on msmdsrv.exe

Hey all,

We had the issues with the Jan release, where the CPU was causing issues, and upgraded to May on the weekend.  This morning, I came in and found the memory for msmdsrv.exe using 300+gb of RAM, plus the same in virtual memory, and using everything the server had - not leaving any memory for the database service etc.

I know it probably comes down to poor models from my team, but is there any way of limiting the amount of RAM available to the service in the config?

There looks to be some guidence from Microsoft on this for Analysis Service, but I want to make sure it's the same guidence for Power BI Report Server, and which settings would be recommended to set.

 This happened to me too. After checking, it became clear that when we want to display one of the dashboards, the memory consumption is very high. In this dashboard, a table was in loading mode and did not show me any data. By applying changes in the part of the data model, the table was fixed and it became clear that the memory consumption had been rationalized.

Trying to monitor memory usage using DMV.
The msmdsrv.ini file in MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Config to see specific details.
