Power BI Report Server - Upload (overwrite) existing Excel File

Hello,

we are using the Power BI Report Server (May 2020).

We have saved some Excel-Files on Power BI Report Server (Upload).

We are able to upload the Excel-File but we are not able to overwrite the existing Excel-File.

When we want to upload the same Excel-File again we are asked whether the existing file should be overwritten.

If we click "overwrite" the following message occures (Internal error on Reportserver):

In the Logfie I can find the following message:

"System.InvalidOperationException: Das Objekt mit Nullwert muss einen Wert haben..|" (Nullable Object must have a value)

Does anyone has the same error? Is this a bug in PBIRS Version May 2020?

Thank you.

Kind regards

NiHi

Yes I am seeing the exact same behavior- previously on the Jan 2020 version, where I had to do this almost daily and it worked perfectly. We're running 1.8.7485.35104 via the 15.0.1103.234 downloaded in July (looks like there was a revision on Jun 30)

Thank you for your feedback!

We are using exactly the same version (15.0.1103.234).

Kind regards

@Greg_Deckle

Thank you for your help.

I will post it on the issue web site and will open a support ticket.

Kind regards

NiHi

@bradsy - have you seen this issue?

I was not able to reproduce this on the prior release 15.0.1103.232 but I released my local test server was not on the latest bits. When I upgraded to latest public release of PBIRS May 2020 15.0.1103.234 I can reproduce this issue

Yes. The upcoming release(October?) will have a fix for the issue.

Thanks @bradsy I knew you'd come through with the goods 🙂
