How to Create users in report server

Hi Guys,

I am totally new to Report server not to power Bi desktop and service. I need a clarity on how to create a user in report server or the ways to create user(role based). Help me on this.

Hello, is there a way we can use email address (other than windows ad account) for powerbi report server security?

HI,

There is way to change to custom authentication but You are new and it's complicated. If it's not critical Try to change AD/Windows mail.

Custom authentication:

In Reporting Services you can manage permissions for existing users (e.g. windows users in your Active Directory domain or workgroup), but you cannot create or delete users. Assuming that you are using Power BI Report Server or Reporting Services in native mode, they work with Windows Authentication and also support third party custom authentication.

Here is a good article about granting permissions (Note: if you are using Power BI Report Server, the "Native mode report server" is the topic you want to look at): https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/security/grant-user-access-to-a-report-serve...

Hope this helps,

Krisztian
