update data set from sql server without local data sources

Hi everyone,

I work with data from SQL server. Data set is updating by query from SQL server. But how I could understand, Power BI firstly use local data source from my PC, that's why I need computer turned on in the moment of scheduled update.

Power BI Service get updated data from your SQL database through gateway, you can check how gateway works in this article.

In addition, you would need to make sure that you install the gateway on a machine that is always on and connecting to the Internet.
