"This PivotTable was created in a later version of Excel and can't be updated in this version."

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to connect Power BI to Excel in order to analyze data. As per the Microsoft instructions, I have selected "Analyze in Excel" within my desired dataset, and it successfully takes me to my excel app. I enable the content, however, the following error comes up "

This PivotTable was created in a later version of Excel and can't be updated in this version. To update it, click OK, and then open the workbook in the version of Excel it was originally created in." I click "ok", and this comes up "

A PivotTable, cube function or filter control using the connection ’pbiazure://api.powerbi.com aacdffc8-b940-4109-b273-954e89c9089e Sandbox’ didn’t refresh."

I've checked whether my excel version is the latest version and it appears so (v 16.52). I'm really confused what I need to do.

Can anyone help at all?

Thanks!

Are you trying to import or connect to the pivot table? You can only import into Power Bi from an excel pivot table.
