Dear Group!
maybe someone has an idea why this is happening.
I have a file in which I have several queries. Data is downloaded using Folder.Files csv approx. 50 files total approx. 450mb.
On 1 device the conversion takes about 5 minutes, on 2 about 120 minutes and on 3 even 240 minutes.
The same power query parameters are set on each device. I personally have hands down, I have no idea what the difference is.
1. Notebook AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS 8-Core Processor 3.30GHz
32.0GB
2. Stationary unit
AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 16-Core Processor 3.49 GHz
128GB
3. virtual machine
Intel(R) Xeon(R) Platinum 8272CL CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59GHz
16.0GB
Do each of the three machines have the same Power BI version installed? Assuming so...
Of what you list, I would think #2 is a winner with 2x Cores and 4x or 8x RAM.
To eliminate the fact that it may be network related, on each machine, replicate the folder structure on the C:\ drive. I bet the VM is the slowest as it has additional overhead.
