on premise test server

Hi,

I am struggling with the new test version of Power BI on premise. Everytime I want to upload a file a get the message that "I can't upload that file....supports only Power Bi Desktop reports that connects live to SQL Server Analysis Services (on-premises)."

My plans where to upload my KPI reports I am using for several months on a test server with the sql server reporting services. However the data comes from different data sources (and none of them are SQL Servers Analysis Services). Is there still a possibilty to share the reports with my colleagues on premises without they have to install power bi?

Best regards,

Tobias

Hi @TobiasS,

Do you want to host Power BI reports in SSRS? If that is the case, currently, it requires that Power BI Desktop reports connect live to SQL Server Analysis Services data source. And the team do plan to extend support to additional data sources besides Analysis Services in a future release.
