Can we create filled maps using web services. Our organization's GIS team exposes some web services for the maps.
Is it possible to use these web services in Power BI, if so then what is the process for using it.
Thanks in advance,
Afzal
Hi @Afzal,
Based on your description, the web pages of web services contain data for maps. In this scenario, you can use Get Data -> Web option and use the URL of the web page to explore the dataset, then create filled map in Power BI Desktop. For detailed steps, please review this blog: http://radacad.com/power-bi-filled-map-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly .
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
Thanks Lydia for response.
What about the click actions on the map, for example using this map as the slicer/filter for the rest of the visuals. For example if I click on a location on the map, my data for all visuals should filter for that location.
Thanks again,
Afzal
Hi @Afzal,
You can acheive the above requirement in Power BI Desktop, just test it in Deskstop.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
