Hello together,
I have a problem with the direct query. Power BI Service shows that everything works fine and is connected. The problem is that the data don´t change, even if I klick on "Refresh now" in Power BI Service (the data come from a SQL server and two excel files as masterdata). When I open the pbix file in Desktop and klick on the button for updating, I get the data which is up to date.
Shouldn´t it work with the gateway automatically and from Power BI Service to the SQL server? What is the reason why I don´t get the newest data in Power BI Service with direct query, but in Power BI Desktop with a manual refresh, even when Power BI shows that everything is fine with direct query?
Best regards
Christopher
Hi @Anonymous,
Does this dataset get data both from SQL server and two excel files? After refresh successfully, how about the result when you refresh the report page?
Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
Hi @v-qiuyu-msft,
yes the dataset get the data of both. Above the refresh history Power BI says that my gateway and the data sources are online. When I want to refresh the report after successful refreshing of the dataset, I can see that it actualizes because of the rolling balls on the visuals, but nothing happens after that.
Best regards
Hi @Anonymous,
Please double confirm when you refresh the report in desktop at the same time you refresh the dataset in service to see if you get the same results.
In service, after dataset refresh successfully, please edit report online, then add a visual to see if the updated data displays.
Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
